This half term the boys’ and girls’ Year 5/6 football teams have both taken part in football friendlies. The Year 5/6 girls’ team won against John Hampden 2-1 with goals from Lucy & Harmony. However, the boys’ team lost 14-6 at Brill with goals from Otto, Ollie. K, Ollie B-R and Henry.
Oxford Academy Year 5/6 Girls’ 5-a-Side Football Tournament
On Thursday 27th May the Year 5/6 Girls entered the Oxford Academy Year 5/6 Girls’ 5-a-Side Football Tournament. The girls won four matches, drew one and lost three with Ruby South scoring five goals and Sarah Saint scoring one. The day was very hot and the girls played eight matches one after the other so
Cross Country Federation Event
On Tuesday 11th May, Tetsworth and John Hampden took part in the annual Federation Cross Country event. The event was the first time since February last year that the children had taken part in school sports. The Year 3/4 girls & boys raced 2 laps of The Green and the Year 5/6 girls & boys
St. George’s Day
On Friday April 23rd, the whole school dressed up in red & white for St. George’s Day. The children sang songs like God Save the Queen & Jerusalem, learnt about St. George & created art work on him too.
Science – Plant Observing
Year One & Two are studying ‘Plants’ this half term in Science & have been walking around Tetsworth drawing their observations of them. They went up the Jitty, to the Forge, on the Green & in St. Giles’ Church.
City of Oxford
Class Two Research on the City of Oxford This week in Computing, Class Two have researched on iPads & created posters on Oxford. There was some fantastic artwork created & some really interesting facts found – Hands up if you knew Harry Potter was filmed there? Or that in WW2, the German’s wouldn’t bomb it?
