Class 3 read the picture book ‘The Tear Thief’. They enjoyed the story and the use of powerful words to conjure up vivid images. The writing they did as a follow up was wonderful.

The Boy
Class 3 are currently listening to The boy at the back of the class. It is a story about a refugee from Syria. Some of the children find out that his favourite fruit is a pomegranate. Many of our children didn’t know what they looked or tasted like – so we tried one!
Year 5/6 Boys’ Football Team are Oxfordshire County Champions
The Year 5/6 Boys’ football team played in the Oxfordshire F.A. Small School’s Final on Thursday 6th February. They beat Sutton Courtenay 3-1 with goals from Teddy and Alisdair. This mean they qualify to represent Oxfordshire at the South-West of England Regional Finals in Bristol on Saturday 21st March. Well done boys!
Year 5/6 Girls Win Thame School’s Sports Partnership Football Tournament
On the Wednesday 29th January the Year 5/6 girls’ football team played in the Thame School’s Sports Partnership football tournament and won it! They didn’t concede a goal in the whole tournament and scored sixteen with goals from Lolah and Rebecca. The final went to penalties and the girls beat Barley Hill 1-0 in the
Mary Seacole
Class Two have been studying famous ‘Medical Activists’ in Topic this week. They have specifically been studying the life of Mary Seacole and her herbal remedies. This week they created their own ‘Ginger Beer’ that Mary Seacole used to help solve illnesses for the soldiers in the Crimean War. By the looks of some of
Year 5/6 Girls win Oxford High School Football Tournament
On Thursday 27th February the Year 5/6 girls’ football team attended the Oxford High School Girls’ on the Ball football tournament. They won four of their six group games which qualified them for the quarter-finals. In the quarter-final they beat Windmill 2-0 with two goals from Lolah. Both the semi-final and final went to penalties
