There is a big emphasis on children reading high quality texts regularly. To this end, at Tetsworth, we have carried out reading audits and have had a huge sort out in the school library. Books have been sorted according to suitability for each age group and colour coded. Mrs Bestley asked parents if they would be willing to buy and donate a book so that she could create special collection boxes. The response has been overwhelming and three collections – Adventure, Magic and Sci-Fi – which contain books suitable from Year 1 through to Year 6 are nearly complete. She has also been amazed at the number of children who have donated books they have read and enjoyed.
