Class Two were adamant they would celebrate St. George’s Day on the 23rd of April this year so they did! The children wore red and white clothes, some had Union Jack bows in the hair, some had 1990 replica England football shirts and some had St. George’s face paint. In Class Two the children learnt about the life of St. George and how he refused to give up his belief in Christianity. They did fun Maths problem solving activities, wrote St. George’s Day poems and sung Jerusalem and God Save the Queen most of the day. It was really fun to celebrate being English on this special day.
